Women in Sports Month

February initiative – celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports

This month, February 2021, join us in celebrating girls and women in sports!

Not only are we celebrating notable female athletes like Serena Williams, Megan Rapinoe, or Ronda Rousey, but our mission this month is to make all women feel empowered and included. Especially our young and aspiring athletes in collegiate, youth, and recreation levels of sports. By supporting women in sports now, and youth girls growing up and mature, we set females up for an equal future. Our goal is for people from all different backgrounds to enjoy sports, recreation, and leisure activities.

By beginning on the local, recreational level, such as The Edge’s programs, the world norms will inevitably begin to shift. By shifting the current world norm, The Edge, its counterparts, and other sports facilities and campus’ can break down one of the last remaining walls between women and equality.

Join in on our cause and support diversity in local and international sport for all! You can support The Edge and join in the month of Women in Sports by sharing our social media posts highlighting some of our female staff members and athletes in the Shenandoah Valley.
